06.13.2015: Good Morning!! Off to See the Sites (and Sights)

I woke up early today....didn't want to sleep in and miss the sights (and potential wildlife!).  So, I was the first one up, and made the coffee, and started the fire, and enjoyed the serenity of the forest.  Not being a morning person, this is unusual for me....but maybe that's what vacations are for...to do the things that you don't usually get to do?!  I sleep in at home....and everyone else on this trip is usually up super early.  So maybe that is the deal...they sleep in & I wake up.  Who knows....but I absolutely loved being up early by myself!!

Eventually everyone got up, and we made breakfast and set out on our tour of the park today.

First stop.....

On our way to the mud pots, we saw some geysers on the side of the road, and a beautiful river...so we pulled over.  There wasn't anyone else there, so we decided to stop & go for a little hike to the river edge.  Sooooo pretty!!  Who knows what this area was called, we were just taking it in & enjoying the discovery of it.

Can you see the elk in the trees???
Its just like one of those paintings, right?!

Walking to the river

No named, steaming geyser things...these are EVERYWHERE in the park...
Because this whole place is a volcano...a super volcano actually.

Loving all the rivers everywhere....

Love this man too...
