06.13.2015: Educational Experiences

This was quite possibly the most entertaining part of the trip.  Educational Experiences...more for the adults than the kids, thanks to Miss Avery.  The rangers hold a little class every night at 5pm at the amphitheater right in the campground there.  Tonight they brought in different animal racks, and skins and talk about what you can see and expect to see in the national park.  It was actually extremely interesting and I even learned a ton.

However, the most hilarious part of the show was that everytime the ranger asked a question to the kids, Avery was the first one to raise her hand.  She only got called on 2-3 times, but she ALWAYS had an answer for him!  It was hilarious!!!  Poor Brianna was getting so embarrassed and every time Avery raised her hand, Brianna grabbed it & put it down.  SOOOO funny!  Andrew answered a couple questions as well...and was right!  Didn't know he knew so much about elk and Yellowstone wildlife!

One of the questions that the ranger asked was what kind of animal skeleton he was holding up.  He was walking around with it...Avery, of course, shot her hand up...and said it was a no-eyed animal.  Technically she was right, it did not have eyes :)   The adults in the crowd busted up laughing.  The ranger was sooooo caught off guard that he wasn't really sure what to do.  Totally hilarious!

Andrew got to go up and "assist" and hold some animals furs for the rest of the show. Pretty cool...he was chatty and engaging with the crowd.  A natural speaker!

Raising her hand

Brianna is holding her left hand down at this point

Avery knew this one.....good thing she still had her right hand free!

The no-eyed animal

And a confused ranger

Cool but kinda creepy!
