My only critique of the mosque, and getting around Bahrain in general is public transportation and access. I took an Uber there from our hotel. The mosque has no wifi and I had no cell service, therefore had no way to call a cab/uber to get me back to my hotel or to my next stop. There are no buses, no cabs or taxis around. So I asked the women at the tour desk and they called a cab for me. This is highly discouraged because they are well known to take advantage of tourists. And he did. He ended up charging me triple what I paid to get there - however I had no choice at this point.
I asked him to drop me off at the museum that was in between the mosque and the hotel. I didn't want to get stuck back at the hotel and have to venture out again somehow. Besides, I knew I wanted to spend the afternoon exploring the museum, then maybe walking to the nearby mall, then walking back to the hotel from there. The museum was a little over a mile from the hotel, which is really no problem to walk - however I was in a foreign country and not too sure of the rules of people just walking on the streets! For now, just drop me at the museum and I will figure it out from here :)
