10.23.2015: ADEX All Day

Work day - Earning the fun we have been having!!

Today, we headed off to the show for a full day of meeting & greeting and packing up.  Mr Kwon had people lined up for Vince to meet, and we had a full day of working the booth.  It was crazy busy today because they opened up the show to SOME of the public, the Korean military, and of course more of the vendors, guests, and clients there shopping the products.  Most of the companies pack it up today, since the weekend is more for the public just coming in to see the air show.  So, today was crazy with a mix of the two.  The day started with some meetings, and the usual setup of the booth.  By today, my feet were on fire.  I could barely feel them.  Like, I felt like they might need to be amputated at this point.  MISERY.  But toughed it out, because I really have no other choice.

So, I was out walking the flight line, because why not just walk around some more, right!?  I see the British A-400 (Airbus) plane over on the runway & go over to check it out.  As I walk up into it, one of the crew stops me & says they are about to take off, so I can't go in.  So, I start chit-chatting with them, talking about Wamore's product and we hit it off.  We talk more & I find out they are going to be in Yuma the following week.  Super nice guys....  So, I go back & tell Vince & he runs out there to talk to them too  They plan to set up a meeting when they come to AZ.  Too funny!!!

Anyways, back to the show....around lunch, we head out to watch some of the actual air show.  They have a team called the Black Eagles, which is the South Korean military version of our Blue Angels or Thunderbirds.  They were actually pretty cool to watch.  We saw their demonstration as well as the F-22 demonstration.  Very cool, and very exciting for the people there!!

Vince and I made friends with some people in the surrounding booths.  One lady in the GE booth reminded us of a Navy friend and she was actually stationed in SD for a long time and was a helicopter pilot.  She did search & rescue missions in the Navy.  Her parents live in Austin right now, and she has family in both Phx and Tucson.  So we had a TON to talk about!  She was super cool.  Everyone there was.  I can't wait for the next one!!!

Late in the day, the US Ambassador made his rounds to the booths in the American bldgs.  He came and met with Vince and asked lots of questions about the product, and seemed genuinely interested.  Very nice guy and took his time talking to everyone.  He has a great story and has been through a lot as the ambassador here (he was stabbed in the face by a Korean earlier this year).

After the show closed around 5pm, we packed up the big crate, secured all the valuables, shipping labels, and got it ready to haul off.  It was the hardest part of it all!!  Like fitting puzzle pieces in a small box haha!  (Actually a very large box, but the equipt is big too!)

Once everything is packed up, we headed out to get a taxi back to the hotel.  Only, the taxis there were trying to extort the heck out of the people.  So we walked out to the main road determined to get our own that wasn't crazy.  We did haha!!!
