After our exhausting day of traveling the countryside, we decide that we want to chill at the hotel and maybe just have dinner there. So, we start out with drinks at the bar/lounge. I have been dying to try SoJu since we got there. This is their signature "everclear" drink. Pure alcohol. Supposedly not tasty at all. But have to try it. Turns out you can't really order just that at a bar (at least this one). They serve it in a beer! So we both order one of those. Then another. By the time we finish those, we are a little tipsy! Guess it does have a high alcohol content! Also, the bar snacks they serve at the table are chips, weird ginger salsa, and peanuts. We sat next to cabinets full of alcohol that we thought was quite interesting. All of it was behind lock & key. But they had a bottle of high end Macallan scotch in the same case as a Smirnoff vodka. Hmmm...organization skills were interesting!
So, we finished off our drinks and headed upstairs to the Chinese restaurant. We checked out the steakhouse but the prices were ridiculous for what you get. To get a cut of either Kobe or American beef, it was $80. No way. So, we opted for the cool, fancy Chinese restaurant. Didn't take pics in there though....would have been awkward since it was pretty fancy. Food was good though!! It came out in multiple courses & was served family style.
After dinner we were exhausted, but didn't feel like going to bed. My feet were killing me still from the other day, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from more exploring. It was late, but we figured one of the shopping areas would still be open. And tonight was our last shot to get some more souvenirs. We have to work all day tomorrow, and leave on Sat. So we set out back to Insadong to see what we could find. This is the area that Mr Kwon took us to the first night. Unfortunately, after sitting in traffic and finally finding the right area, we were about 1/2 hr too late. All the shops were closing or closed! :( We were soooooo bummed!!! Frustrated, tired and feet on fire, we headed back to the hotel & off to bed. Tomorrow is another day.
