The day has finally arrived! We are headed to Korea!! Our flight from Phx to Dallas was at 5am...so we were up super early and off to the airport. I hate early mornings. We met Mark, Vince's boss, at the airport and made our first leg to Dallas with no issues. During our short layover, we went to the Admirals Club for some free drinks & breakfast. Hadn't been in one of those before & realized I need to figure out how to get on that program!! Pretty cool...
Second leg from Dallas to Seoul was a little longer (14 hours). That was a rough one. Didn't love the whole sitting in the seat for that long, and don't sleep well on planes. However, it wasn't nearly as miserable as I thought it was going to be. My last long (10hr) flight I was really sick on (cold & ear infection), so I have horrible memories of those overseas flights. So, this was a piece of cake in comparison!!
Once we landed in Seoul, we bought bus tickets to take us to our hotel. It was about a 30 min drive. I like how they say it can be 30mins to 3 hours....depending on traffic! That is worse than LA or NYC! It was good though...we didn't have much traffic. Lucky we landed on a Sunday afternoon. I tried to take some pics from the bus...but didn't get many good ones.
I was actually in shock at how different it was from what I expected. Much cleaner, progressive, and GREEN! Beautiful rivers with people out walking, running and biking. Parks everywhere. It looked like any nice American city, except the words were all symbols.
