Early Thurs am, the Hearns started rolling into town. We made a quick stop in Temecula to stock up on our favorite wines on the way down from Riverside. Eric, Karissa & the girls left AZ at 5am, so as not to miss a minute of fun. Christina & Justice headed down from LA and got in about noon. Glenn & Jan were already in town for work during the week so were ready for some family fun. Charles & Patty were picking up Greg at the airport in AZ, then heading out to SD....and got in about 3pm....also ready for some fun!
We all got in and got all checked into the hotels. Vince had reserved 9 rooms on the Navy base there in Point Loma...same place we got married. This was a "mission"...as these are the most sought-after rooms in all of San Diego!!! He was successful, as always! Vince & I secured an extra hotel room to use as our "hospitality suite" for the weekend so that everyone could come & meet...and not worry about messing up anyone's room. We decorated the room in red, white, & blue...and everything 4th of July...then stocked it with food & drinks. I had made special "Hearn Family Vacation" bags for the weekend for everyone...beach bags with sand mats, toys & all kinds of goodies. I have to admit they turned out really nice!!
Some of us took a walk on waterfront in the afternoon while others got settled in. Later we all met up in the hospitality suite waiting for the rest of the gang to get there. A great way to start the weekend!!
