Best thing about waking up early the next morning before the rest of the crew...the amazing sunsets!!! For some reason, I LOVE to get up early when we are on these trips. And NO I am NOT a morning person. Ok, to be clear, its not like pre-dawn early, let's not get crazy, but earlier than most of the rest! It is still about 6am, because that is when the sun rises in the desert in the middle of summer. I usually go down and get my camera and snap a few pics before the crowd awakes. I love getting downstairs (Vince, Drake and I sleep on top of the boat, so as soon as the sun comes up, we are UP!) before the inside people wake and getting a cup of coffee and relaxing and admiring the sleepiness and silence. Some of the group sleeps on shore (hard-core), and the others inside the boat (the ones that have gone soft...or have little kids). Heehee! I'm in between...I like the feel of being outside, but maybe not necessarily so exposed on shore...although I would still prefer the shore to inside the boat. So right now, we have the best of both worlds I guess. Not complaining at all!!
