Today we had some greeeeeat meals for the food competition!!! The kiddos were in charge of lunch...so you know the bar was set pretty high. They made a combination of wraps and sandwiches. One of their specialties were PB&J wraps to look like "sushi". They did a wide variety of combos that they wanted everyone to try...and they were pretty creative with their fixings. Not to mention the finger lickings in between! Some think it only adds to the flavor of the meal :)
Yum, Yum!
And then it was time for dinner....
I can say (unbiased, of course) that there was really no competition this year when it came to all-around full dinner presentation. Tonight was a Hawaiian Luau. The "Vince and Cassy Team" did a Hawaiian themed dinner, complete with props, décor and attire. We had multi-flavored Polynesian shish-kabobs, pineapple fried rice, Hawaiian sweet baked beans, and Hawaiian bread. We also planned a signature drink, Mai-Tais, but were too tired/busy to make it...Haha!!! But we did have lei's for everyone...which I think they loved. We had tikki torches that we brought as well, but it was waaaay too light out, and waaay too hot, so we didn't light those either. The whole thing sounded better in our heads than it did logistically...so we had many things we planned for that never happened. Oh well...it was the thought!
Lei's were a little itchy around the necks so they became crowns :)
