07.11.2013: Welcome Dinner at South Point

Here we go again....!!!

Hard to believe it is already here...Houseboat Trip #7!!!  It's amazing how fast & slow the year goes...all at the same time!  Couldn't have come soon enough for some of us though :)

Time for our annual Welcome & Kickoff Dinner at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.  We all staggered into town at different times, but all made it to the all-important happy hour & dinner event.  Vince, Drake and I caravanned with Brent & Alisa & Co and got in mid-afternoon.  We had the kids in the Tahoe with us and had karaoke & name that tune contests all the way up.  They were pretty funny!  Not to mention they were devouring some type of chocolate treats they brought.  Very innocently...and quietly!!

Back to our welcome dinner, er happy hour!  So, this year, happy hour was a little disappointing.  We used to go to the Tequila Bar there at South Point before dinner because they had an AMAZING happy hour special.  It was $2 you-call-it tequila shots.  You could get the best of the best tequila for cheap!  Soooo as you can imagine, this was truly a kick off dinner...just a taste of what was to come for the next few days!  Unfortunately, they got rid of their happy hour special :(  So, although we still had a wonderful time, we didn't have the excitement of getting great happy hour deals.  Oh well, probably better off that way anyways...makes for a hurtful early morning when we over-do it!  Happy hour is when Mom usually distributes the "bags" for the trip too!  We all got t-shirts, specialized sippy cups, personalized towels, etc....a bag full of goodness!  Each year, the grab bag gets better and better!  One of my favorite parts of the trip....there is always amazing things in there.

The kids didn't care about the happy hour deals changing...they still got their Shirley Temples.  They were happy!

 Displaying their new apparel...
I had some interesting reading material included in my bag this year...History of the Backstreet Boys

I have a few of these with Nana...need some with my Tubbas too!!
Can you say HAM?!?!
