Kenny couldn't make it to Christmas Eve dinner, but the rest of us were there. We celebrated in traditional fashion, with all the appropriate food items...just missing a few key, very important people. This was our first true Christmas without Gramma & Papa. We had sooooo many Christmas Eve's with them before, it was really weird being together but not being at their house this year....knowing they are both gone. It was comforting being together though, and I am glad we could, as much as possible. Mike and Olivia were here in town for the holidays too, so it was nice having them...and they kids are always a great distraction.
I wanted to do a drive-by of Gramma & Papa's house tonight...especially tonight...it just seemed right, but we didn't. I know they were here with us in spirit, and in our hearts. They will always be here with us on Christmas Eve, and every day....but especially today!!
After dinner, we all played some games. The kids are really into board games right now! Kids were super excited for Santa to come. They all got to open one present tonight...and then set out their treats for Santa & the reindeer...and they were off to bed! The rest of us stayed up for a few....
