Last day...time to fly home. I think Thelma was ready to go by now, while the rest of us were close to tears. Mom and Dad left earlier in the morning. Our shuttle was coming a little later. Drake was wandering the resort, getting in his last pina colada's & strawberry daiquiris (virgin of course)....saying goodbye to all his favorite bartenders....yes, they all knew him (all the kids!)!
Vince and I said our goodbyes to Haans & gave our hugs & thank you's for everything he did all week. We headed out to the terrace area and sat out watching the ocean, enjoying our last few moments. It was HOT today though...like really hot! It was the first day that it was this warm, with no ocean breezes....and there were a bunch of people in the water. We just enjoyed it...
Soon, our shuttle showed up to whisk up away and take us to the airport. When we got there, our escort got us all checked in (in front of the line, of course)! Amazing what a few bucks will get you! Oh, and a lady in a wheelchair! We had to get Thelma one, as she could NOT walk on that ankle. It was so swollen! Anyways, we got thru security much faster than we should have! Once we were thru, we got Drake and Thelma settled & Vince and I walked around...and ran into Mom & Dad!!! They were eating at the Margaritaville restaurant there in the terminal. So we joined them for a very strong margarita while we all waited for our respective flights! They were headed out before us, so our visit wasn't long. It was the perfect good-bye drink though!!! Once we finally boarded, I passed out on the plane and slept most of the way home!! Perfect.....
