We set out the day on a mission to find the perfect bridesmaid dress for Christina's wedding....for Sarah & Rachel! We started the day with some mimosas...and then some for the road as well. Guess that's normal out here in Texas! We drove up to Austin, as there were no suitable dress shops in SA. It was a cool morning so we dressed accordingly. We drove to Austin and found 2 very nice bridal shops. At the first place the girls tried on literally every dress they had! Texting Christina pics in between of the winners. Nothing was perfect though...and didn't know if any could be ordered in time. So we went to the next shop and found nothing there. It could have been the result of a delay in mimosa refills though. So we found a bar/restaurant next door that looked much more appealing! After food & drinks, we gave up and headed back south. Rachel was driving us and failed to mention that her A/C was not working. Who volunteers to drive then doesn't tell you that there is no A/C?
So, by late afternoon time, Sarah and I pretended to sleep the whole way back, but we both were in silent misery from the heat!! We really tried to pass out, but nothing was working to be able to get us there. So we just sweated, and pained our way thru it. When we got back to Sarah's house, we both stripped down to normal summer Sept Texas clothes and took much needed naps. The boys were out with the kids for the day, so we took advantage and had a few minutes of recoup time!
After a very long day of unsuccessful bridesmaid dress shopping we needed a recovery dinner! We went to the Arcade....which has nothing to do with video games....but everything to do with amazing food and drinks! Can you say French 75?! How about steamed mussels in a chorizo butter sauce? This place has all kinds of amazing surprises hidden in its menus!!! Definitely not suitable for just one trip...
Anyways, it was a great night with the family!
Oh, on the way back to the car....we ran into "the car". Well, the guy driving it thought he was all that....it was very "NightRider"-ish...but the driver was definitely not David Hasselhoff! Haha! Still a cool car....
