Another great reason Vince and I were in San Antonio this week was for Chris' Air Force Graduation!!! Hard to believe time has already flown by and he was done with boot camp. Seems like just yesterday we were there to help see him off!! But there he was, all done and ready to graduate and move on to the next steps in his life.
When we got there we found out that not only had he graduated, but that he was at the top of his class, graduated with honors and achieved expert marksman!! All things that are very hard to achieve and things to be very proud of! A couple of the instructors came up to him & us saying how amazing it was that he had gotten so many ribbons by this time....and that no matter what, no one could ever get those anytime later in their careers. So, needless to say, pretty damn proud of my lil cousin!!
Gina, Bill, Mike, Scott, and Bill's niece, Gina, all came out for the ceremony. So glad we were able to be there!!
Fancy sleeping accommodations!
Chris's closet...er, home for the past 6 weeks.
Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate at all today! They had to cancel the big joint ceremony on the parade grounds and they did individual ceremony's in each of the flight's dorms instead. Kind of a bummer, because the full parade ground ceremony is really cool...but makes for a much more personal and shorter day this way. The rain was coming and going all day...oh, and did I mention the humidity?!!? Yeah, it was ridiculous! We were in shorts & t-shirts, and sweating like crazy...but you couldn't tell because it was raining...so our sweat just looked like rain :)
