Friday there were no group plans so Vince and I invited the crew over to Mom & Dad's house for the day & dinner. Tony & Meena were dying to see the orange groves and the kids couldn't wait to get out and explore. Vince brought the kids and Tony & Meena over around noon. Christina, Sarah, Paisley and Rose stayed behind so Pais could take a nap. Lex was working and they would join us later for dinner. Mom, Dad, Brent, Alisa and kids were headed out from AZ too...so we would get to see them all a little later for dinner.
Everyone couldn't wait to go pick some fruit in the back. Meena was shocked at the beauty of the groves and the private feeling of the property. She didn't know this existed in CA, and fell in love with it! They all picked as much as they could of oranges, grapefruit, pomegranates, avocados, limes, lemons, tangerines.... The kids made some juices with some of it and enjoyed drinking it all. Seems like they had a blast!!
Vince made ribs for dinner...and sausages, and lamb chops for Lex. It all came out great, and everyone seemed to have a good time! They even got to take a ton of oranges and avocados back with them
(Update -- Vince Jr saved 13 of the avocado seeds to try to grow in Texas. As of 3/25, 9 of them have sprouted and are almost ready for planting. He is so excited to have a piece of the Durbin CA orchard in his yard!!)
At some point the topic of Fireball Whiskey came up. We decided we needed to take shots of it. So, we did! Whyyyyy not!! :)
