12.31.2014: New Years Eve Party

For New Years Eve, we went over to Brent & Alisa's house for a sleepover.  We had an ENTIRE day of food and eating planned...and drinking...and hanging out until at least midnight!  The neighbors came over a little later for evening festivities.  The kids played Michael Jackson on the Wii, and made all kinds of other ruckus throughout the house.  The adults played board games all night.  We played Battle of the Sexes...which was SOOO much fun!!! It was hilarious!!  I was bummed I didn't know more of the answers...think all the drinking must have impaired me haha!!  It was a blast though.  Who knew board games could be so fun!

As the ball dropped and the clock stuck midnight, we celebrated with lots of yelling and cheering and hugging each other!  Such a fun group to spend the New Years with!  And especially knowing that everyone makes it home safely...an added bonus!

We brought Kaizen and spent the night there....no way were we going to attempt a drive home that night!!

Brent & Alisa made some AMAZING skillet steaks for us (the adults) for our special NYE dinner.

The trees got Christmas lights to keep them warm so they wouldn't freeze.  We got snow tonight!!

2 remotes, 5 kids dancing.  Who needs remotes!?

Cuddle time!!  Watching NFL lip reading videos...hilarious!

Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
So long 2014 - You were good to us but its time to move on.

12.27.2015: Dinner with the Hesketts

Gina & Bill came over for dinner tonight & to watch the USC game.  It was so good to see them, as it had been months since we had all gotten together!  We didn't get to have our annual, usual big get together with everyone, so it was nice that we got to spend some time with them.

After dinner, the girls (and Vince) drove down to the Mission Inn to see what was going on down there.  I LOVE the Mission Inn at Christmas...but it is always so packed.  Unless you are planning to stay there for a while, it is not worth trying to fight for parking.  So we just drove around and checked it out from the car.  We drove up & down Candy Cane Lane to check out the gorgeous houses there...then headed back home.

Thankfully the guys were holding down the house well....

Avery taking a much needed nap before company came.  Oh, she is just resting...not napping...with my blanket!!

12.27.2014: The Morning After

The morning after is always great because that is when the kids get to play with all their toys!  Today, the kiddos got to POGO.  Yup, they all got pogo sticks.  Such fun!!!  It has been forever since I have pogo'd, but I remember the year Brent and I got our own sticks growing up.. So much fun!!  No telling how many times we "accidentally" pogo'd into the pool!!  Haha!  Kids were warned early on that there would be no accidents today ;)

They had so much fun...and what a work out it is too.  Avery had fun riding the good-ole' John Deere.  That thing never grows old.  We sat in the driveway for hours just hanging out and enjoying the sun and beautiful day!

12.26.2014: Durbin Present Time

After the Hearns-Furzes left, we opened our gifts for each other.  Avery was determined to help EVERYONE open their gifts!!  It was a fun night...and we got amazing gifts from everyone.  One of my fav times of the season...all being in the same room, taking our time enjoying each other's company.  Gifts or no gifts, it is about the togetherness we always have.

My loves!!!

One of those nights?!  Alisa two-fisting...wine & PBR?!  Might have to kick her out of the wine club for mixing.
