04.26.2014: Tillman Run 2014

Today, as a family, we all ran in the Tillman Run.  Ok, maybe not ALL of us...but we had a few of us and it was super special!  This was my first run..Drake's too.  I decided that I wanted to try to run it all so took off from the group.  Brent & Alisa took off running in the front of the pack and tried to double us up.  Mom, Brianna & Avery were in the stroller group so were at the back of the pack.  Me, Vince, Dad, Drake and Andrew were in the middle somewhere.  It was an amazing race in the drizzle of the April AZ spring!  Who knew it would be cool and drizzling...which was awesome for the runners...but miserable and cold for the walkers and kiddos!   We all finished though and got back to our cars before it started pouring!!  It was soooo much fun though and am excited to make it a family tradition!

04.17.2014: Driving Home Through the Poppy Fields

So we woke up early and started the drive back to Riverside from Napa.  Once we reached Apple Valley area, there were ridiculous poppy fields everywhere!!  We had taken this side trip through the valley on some 2 lane road to avoid LA traffic...and WOW....we got these amazing views.  Pics do NOT do this drive justice.  We had to pull over and just admire the magic.  Never before (except the Carlsbad flower fields) had I see such amazing depth & color. So cool...and so unexpected.
