12.14.2016: Christmas Concert in Scottsdale

Tonight Vince and I met two of our fav people out for dinner and a concert.  Brian had bought tickets to go see Chris Mitchell play at the Scottsdale Fire Sky Resort.  We met for dinner at the Roaring Fork then walked across the street for the concert.  None of us had really heard of him before, but he is a jazz, soprano sax player.  He was amazing!  It was a small intimate venue and he was very personable and played to the crowd all night.

2 highlights of the night -- First, a guy proposed to his girlfriend there in the front row right at the start of the show!  And second, Chris picked out a good looking older couple kinda in the middle and played a song just for them.  By the time he was done, they were both in tears.  Watching them was so, so touching and brought tears to our eyes too!

Not to put a damper on the night, but after the show, we saw the couple outside and Vince went to talk to the man to tell him how touching that was.  He told Vince that he & his wife just found out he didn't have long to live, and that song he sang directly to them really hit them hard.  Such a touching, yet heartbreaking reminder of the real world.
