We got into the city center and checked into our hotel. We are just on the outskirts of the main area, mostly business & commerce bldgs around us. There is also a big university type center down the street. We liked being out of the touristy area and more around the locals. Biggest benefit is that the rooms are super nice & clean, gated underground garage (parking is hard to come by in the city), and the hotel is right in front of a metro/tram stop. We can hop on & off and get anywhere we want in Munich - its perfect!
So, we unloaded and hit the metro (S-bahn). We headed into town to go to a little farmers market that I had really wanted to see last time we were there. Unfortunately, it was closed :(
We ended up back at the central marketplace that we visited on our first day here. We ended up in a bar called Paulaner for a drink and some pretzel soup. It was a nice little stop-off on our walking journey around the city. We were staying in a completely different part of town this time, but everything leads back to the same square.
So we walked around a bit, did a little shopping, and found a cute restaurant for dinner that was attached to a gorgeous art gallery. The restaurant had trees growing thru the inside of it and it felt like we were in a bamboo forest. They also had some of the best burgers I've ever had. The beef in Germany is better than any I've had before - sooooo good and flavorful!! So, we had some drinks, had our burgers and enjoyed the evening before taking the S-bahn back to our hotel.
