04.08.2012: Easter Egg Huntin'

Although this type of huntin' doesn't require guns, bow & arrows, etc....the kids were equally excited! Us adults stuffed and hid all the eggs the night before, which was so fun!!  We were betting on which ones would be found first....and hiding them in some ridiculous places.  Good thing they weren't real ones, as some ended up sat on (yes, hid "in" the couch), and in places only to be discovered later.  Tubbers didn't do too much huntin' but did try to get in on the egg action once Nana set her basket down.  It was cute to watch them search for eggs, although the opening them (some had money, and some had candy), was the real excitement.  Such a strange tradition that someone invented.  Who would have thought that the resurrection of Jesus would, commercially, turn into a big stuffed bunny who hides eggs for kids to find.  I don't get the connection, but oh well. All I know is that we got a new outfit every Easter from the big rabbit and got to eat lots of hard-boiled eggs (my fav).  So whatever the correlation is, the tradition continues.  And even though we don't usually go to church on Easter (since that is when all the Christ-Ers come out), we still take a moment to pray and reflect on the sacrifices that Jesus made for us, and the true meaning of the holiday we all celebrate.

 Candy vs money....hmmmm
How did that duck get there??

Tubbers is like "You two look at the camera & don't mind me while I borrow some of these eggs right here!"
