11.07.2010: The Secret Behind "Drinkability"
Who knew!!?? In the land of Coors, who knew that Busweiser had a brewery here! Vince and I are staying our last night of our anniversary vacation back in the Loveland/Ft Collins area. Planning on going to downtown Ft Collins, which is kinda a cute little college town, for dinner, we leave our hotel and head a few exits up the freeway. All of a sudden out of nowhere, we see a sign that says FREE BEER, FREE TOURS! What?! There is a Bud brewery right up the road. We should be surprised, but we always seem to stumble into fun little finds while on vacation. Part of the adventure!! So we said hmmmm...lets do it! We got there literally right before it was closing so we were basically alone on our tour with the beer guy. So fun! We spent a while there checking out the horses, doing the tour, then of course getting our free samples!!

So, the secret to Bud drinkability...it is all about what goes into the beer. All beers are brewed with grain....many types of grain, but grain none the less. Bud Light uses rice as one of their grains...along with barley, hops and wheat. Rice gives it the lighter flavors and lighter color....hence the "drinkability"!!! :) It was very interesting learning about the brewing process.
