11.06.2010: Veterans Day Parade

So, Vince and I got up and wanted to spend the gorgeous (warm) morning walking around town and checking things out....and buying some summer-ish clothes to wear!! And guess what we stumbled upon...the Denver Veterans Day Parade!! Last year we accidentally stumbled upon thee NYC Veterans Day Parade! So, of course we had to stop and watch for a while. Very hilarious people, cars, things in this parade! And of course lots of veterans and ROTC kids. So, we watched for a while before moving on to explore more of downtown.

These buggies were doing all kinds of formations going down the street....kinda funny!

Whats a parade without a jail car
ROTC kids
Air Force ROTC kids
Ronnie McDonnie....
Gorgeous church
After walking a mile in one direction, we turned around and headed down to the other side of downtown for some lunch. I have always wanted to go to Wynkoop Brewery down near the stadiums...and all the times I have been here had never made it down there! So, this trip I was determined...even though it meant a LOT of walking! Finally made it there....and had some DELISH beer to show for it!! Had some soft giant pretzels as a little snack as well. Worth the trip for sure! I started off with a Green Chili Beer....because I absolutely LOVE green chilis and because it sounded so very interesting. If you could drink whole green chilis, that is what this beer tasted like. It was delish, gross, and interesting all at the same time, and left you wanting more...just not more of that! It was really good, but definitely one of those beers you could only drink one of. Switched it up for the next one!!! Great beers, great food, great atmosphere....highly recommend...so glad we went!!
