01.13.2018: Saturday Explorations

Today, Vince and I were just kinda hanging out relaxing, and decided we should get out and explore.  I knew there was a "conservation expo" at the Odysea Aquarium today and thought it would be a little cheesy, but also might be cool to check out.  Twisted Vince's arm to go, so we did.  It turned out to be pretty cool.  There were a TON of exotic-ish kind of animals there.  Snakes (ewww) that people were walking around with, alligators, hawks, reptiles, and even dinosaurs. Yes, the dinos' have  apparently fought extinction and come back - at least here in Scottsdale.

We also went over to Dolphinarious to check out the dolphin exhibit there and see what the deal was with swimming with the dolphins.  It was pretty neat because there was a bar & little snack restaurant out along the edge of the pool where you could sit and just watch the dolphins with their trainers.  I probably could have stayed there forever, except I would have ended up trying to swim with them too.

After getting our fill of animals, we decided to just go for a drive.  We headed up to Bartlett Lake to just check it our and see what it was like.  It had been quite a while since we'd been up there.  It was pretty empty, and a gorgeous day.  We drove around most of the lake that we could and just walked down by the water a for a bit.  So nice and relaxing....although it made us long for a lake day with the boys, toys, and all the family there!
