After a night of pouring rain, we woke up to crystal clear, cloudless gorgeous blue skies. We spent the night over at Brent & Alisa's since we decided to have a pre-superbowl party last night. Mom & Dad were leaving to go back to CA this morning so we had our "big" party and sleepover before the game.
The kids were itching to get out of the house, so Alisa and I took them over to the Orange Monster. The OM is a crazy play structure (death trap) in the community across the street. I see these popping up in communities all over the place, and I have NO IDEA why. They are literally death traps! Its crazy, but the kids love it. I guess its much safer than the old OLPH structure, but all I see are emergency room visits when I look at it. So the kids played for a while, tried the swings, then wanted to go play on the big grass hill. They had more fun on that thing than anything else. Just give the kids some grass, and an incline, and they are endlessly entertained.
We watched the Superbowl in the afternoon, and literally spent the ENTIRE day eating. Alisa & I like planning out ridiculous food & drink menus...which is half the fun! When we actually have to eat all the food...ugh! There just isn't room for it all!!! Time for me to start running again.
