Tonight was Leap Into Literature Night at Cambridge. I was watching the kiddos for the weekend while Alisa and Brent went to Texas to work on house plans. So, we headed over to the school o check this out! Andrew had to dress up as a Greek god. That was interesting. White Sheet + Gold Rope = Greek god. Brianna and Avery didn't have to dress up or work in their rooms. ALL of the teachers go ALL OUT with their décor. The rooms were completely decked out in whatever story they were featuring. It was soooo cute!!! I am truly in awe of the teachers here. They are amazing and put so much time and work into their kids and jobs here. The kids are lucky to have them.
So, each room was not only decorated, but also featured projects of the kids that had something to do with the books they read. They also served some sort of snacks in the room as well. One room was a Harry Potter theme...and they served witches potion drinks. There were "menus" of different things to mix up (flavored powders). They had a cauldron of water with dry ice too. It was pretty cool! Andrew's room was all Greek themed. Very cool! Brianna's was something about a quilt. Avery's was ocean - Nemo themed. They were very creative and you could tell that the teachers and kids put a ton of effort into them! So we walked thru all the rooms and got snacks and treats....the kids all got to see each others work and visit with the other classes and parents. It was a LOT of fun! Its also cool to know so many people there so when you are walking around it truly is entertaining.
After the event, I took the kiddos to a pizza place for dinner. None of us had been there before and it was actually really good. We were all so tired though, we couldn't wait to get back to their house!! Once we did, we got a second wind and wanted to stay up!
