Today we had our annual Pat Tillman run that we have been doing as a family the past few years. It is only a 4.2 mile run, through Tempe and South Scottsdale, but it is tons of fun! There are about 10 billion people that participate in it now (well, ok, there are 30,000 people that ran this year...but it felt like billions!). For some reason this year seemed extra crowded on the course. We all started out together. I hung with Mom & Brianna for the first mile, then Mom hung back to wait for Alisa and Avery to catch up. The strollers had to start behind us. Nana wanted to keep running so her & I took off. Not too long later, Alisa caught up to us...and left Avery and the stroller with Mom. The guys were all running together either in front, or behind us...we couldn't really tell since we got separated at the start. After a while we passed up Vince and Drake....and Vince hung back with Drake and Nana, as they were ready to walk for a while. Alisa and I took off running. Brent and Andrew were at the finish to high-5 us as we came across then we waited to take pics of the rest of the crew finishing. Dad finished with Brent & Andrew just ahead of Alisa and I...but we didn't see him until later. It is kinda chaotic finding each other at the finish!
So fun though!! As always, it is a great tradition that we do together. Great support for the Tillman Foundation, and a good reminder of the sacrifices that our military members make for our freedoms.
