Today, we had the whole day to just hang out and relax. We decided to drive over to Coronado to check out what was going on over on the island. We ended up driving out the strand & down to Imperial Beach area. Vince had never been down the strand, or knew that it existed. So it was pretty cool driving out there and seeing the beautiful views and ocean. We drove around a little in IB before heading back to Point Loma area. On our way back we stopped at a sandwich place in Little Italy area that is really good. We got some subs to go, and headed back to our hotel. We decided to go eat out on the grass overlooking the bay area into downtown SD. Again, it was an absolute gorgeous day out!
After lunch, we decided to get in a little pool time. There were only a handful of people out there so it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Benefits of going to resorts mid-week!!!
We had planned on going to a concert tonight, Marc Broussard. One of the reasons that we decided to come to SD this year for our anniversary trip. We both love his music, and what a coincidence that he was playing here today!!! So, of course we got tickets. However, as the day wore on, we got more & more exhausted. So, we decided not to go. It didn't even start until 10pm, and we were done by 5!! We ended up walking to a little Thai restaurant we found about a mile away. We decided the walk would be good for us (both there & back!) and maybe it would wake us up enough to go to the concert. Nope, but we did have a GREAT dinner!!! And found a new favorite hole in the wall there in Point Loma. So, we didn't go to our concert....but we still had an amazing day once again!! :)
