11.06.2012: Happy 3rd Anniversary to US!

Vince and I were still in CA from all the festivities of the weekend & week before.  We had planned to be here for this week to celebrate our anniversary back in Point Loma so it worked out great since I got to help out with Gramma & Papa for a few days before we came down.  We found a great package at the Humphrey's Half Moon Bay Inn & Suites.  I had been there multiple times, but never actually stayed there.  Vince hadn't been there before and was super impressed with the grounds!  We told them it was our anniversary, and they ended up upgrading us to one of their biggest suites....and sending us a bottle of champagne!  We had a big bedroom, with separate living room, and a giant balcony....with our own birds!!!  Yes, that's right, our own birds!  They were hanging out on this railing that was kinda attached to our balcony.  So, yes, we basically had our own birds, just to us.  It was so awesome!!  The hotel was pretty empty, probably because it was mid-week....and it felt like our own private paradise.

 

We spent a LOT of time walking around the grounds today.  It is so gorgeous here and in the most perfect location.  It was warm and sunny...almost identical from how it was on our wedding day.  Cool ocean breezes, but warm CA air.  So, so nice!



 

 

 Across the street from the hotel is the San Diego Bay.  There is a boat launch there and lots of grass to sit on and enjoy the views of the city & Coronado.  While we were enjoying the views from the boardwalk there, the strangest fog/marine layer rolled in over the end of the Point Loma peninsula.  It was the absolute oddest thing we have both ever seen!  The way it kind of wrapped itself around the mountains, and come crashing down the middle....so, so wierd!!  Pictures do not even come close to describing what was going on here.  We spent over an hour just watching this strange weather pattern...because it was still bright and sunny right above us!
