05.26.2012: Old Blue...errrr Red

So, anyone that has known Papa in the old days...ie, pre-1980....knows about Old Blue.  Old Blue was Papa's old blue Dodge pickup that he has had forever!  I'm not quite sure what year he acquired Old Blue....but he ended up giving it to Shelly's brother-in-law about 15 years ago; who ended up restoring it...and brought it over today to show Papa the new Old Blue....which is now red.  I asked Papa if it made him remember Old Blue and he said no...it was a different truck.  But you could tell that he was excited to see his old truck! It was such a cool experience seeing him go through it and appreciate the new changes and the old remodeled parts of it.  Papa did so many "modifications" to it in his time, that eventually had to be taken off due to trying to bring it back to an "original" status.  It was funny listening to him ask what happened to this, and what happened to that.  Just a few things....Papa had added a blinker to the mirror by the driver door...which is now gone.  All the wires in the engine had been "rewired" to "work better"....aka had Papa fixed it!  Haha!  Amazing that there were only a handful of things/parts/wires under the hood, at least compared to the new cars these days.  What a neat experience...so glad I was there to see Papa reminisce!

 The lift on the bed still works perfect...like an old dump truck!

 The windows popped out from the bottom....for air flow....aka old school air conditioning!
