01.10.2009: WICKED in Los Angeles

On Sat, Vince and I went with Mom and Dad to see WICKED the musical in Los Angeles. This was the second attempt made by Mom and Dad to see it. The first one was derailed by some Southern CA fires that closed the freeway. They ended up sitting on the 91 for a few hours and missed the play. So, this time, they invited Vince and I to go see it with them....with a little more luck in getting there!! It was the last weekend of the show and it was AMAZING! It was being performed at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. The theater alone is pretty spectacular!!! That is a sight in itself. I had been here years ago to see another play and forgot how gorgeous it is.

WICKED is a different look at the Wizard of Oz. It is the story of the "Wicked" witch of the east and the good witch of the west. The musical was amazing....the music itself was fantastic, the storyline extremely creative, the dialogue hilarious....all made for a wonderful play! I HIGHLY recommend everyone go see it! A definite must!!

Unfotunately, we could not take advantage of spending the day down in Hollywood and play tourists. This was playoff weekend, after all, and we had to rush home to watch the football games!!! It was a great afternoon though and we all (even Dad!!!) had fun and enjoyed the play! Thanks for the invite, Mom and Dad! We loved it!
