06.19.2016: Happy Father's Day

For Fathers Day today, Glenn and Jan invited u over to their house for lunch.  All their kids came, as well as Thelma, of course.  Fun day catching up with the Hearns, as we hadn't seen them in a while.

For Fathers Day, Vince Jr had shipped Vince a bottle of Purple Heart wine, from the Purple Heart winery in Napa.  It was a little "find" he stumbled upon and thought it would be an amazing fathers day gift for his Dad.  He was right!  Vince was soooooo excited!!  We had to open it up that night and drink it...and it was GOOD.

06.11.2016: Can't Stop The Feeling

We all headed over to Brent & Alisa's for dinner and to hang with the family.  Vince got to play with Barrett...well, kinda.  He got to carry him around.  At least until his arm went numb.

The kiddos decided they wanted to perform a dance for K&K for the wedding.  First we were planning to do a whole wedding party dance.  They we decided just the kids...but then Brent was like, "What about me?!" So then we decided to have them start the dance...then anyone who wants can join in.  Brianna was put in charge of choreography, and did a GREAT job!  We decided on using the JT song - Cant Stop The Feeling.  It is fun, and very "in" right now.

So, the kids practiced and practiced....and eventually Brent & Vince joined in on the fun too. Going to be sooooo fun watching them do it at the wedding. Took lots of video, but not many pics :(

06.04.2016: Quick Cali Visit

Vince and I headed to CA for the weekend, just for a quick visit, to drop off some wedding stuff, and to go visit with Christina & Lex and Lennox.  Sat morning we got p and went on a walk with Mom & Dad.  They do a 3.75 mile walk around the neighborhood, with a big hill (Gratton), and head home through the orchards where they "borrow" some lemons and beautiful ruby red grapefruit!

After our walk and getting cleaned up, Vince and I headed out to Huntington to visit the Furze's.  We ended up going over to Pacific City for a late lunch and to check out the ocean views.  I miss the ocean!!  It was such a beautiful day that I didn't want to leave. I just wanted to find a blanket and go lay on the sand.

We headed back to Riverside for dinner, wine on the back patio and relaxing outside.

05.26.2016: Avery's Practice Kinder Graduation

Today is the kindergarten class graduation.  Avery is participating even though she wasn't "full time" and it was kinda just a practice year for her.  She did do all the same work as the whole class though so definitely "passed" kindergarten!!  She is for sure going to be the smartest kindergartener at her real kinder next year!!

It was a super cute ceremony and she was so proud to be graduating.  She was adorable in her cap & gown!  The kids sang a couple songs, received their diplomas, and did the whole graduation procession.  Afterwards, we went to her class and got to see all her work she had done all year, took more pics, and the kids all got individual awards from Mrs Nardo.

Andrew's kinder class was Mrs. Nardo's first year teaching, not just at Cambridge, but ever.  She got to see him grow from a kinder to a 6th grader.  This is Mrs Nardo's last year teaching at Cambridge and Avery got to be in her final class.  Brianna holding up the middle.  Kinda special being able to have all these 3 Durbin kiddos in her 6 years of teaching here!

Someone was happy to steal Barrett for the ceremony :)

Mrs Nardo and her kiddos.
Such a blessing to have her teach all 3 kids...from her first day at Cambridge to her last.

Such a special teacher for these special kiddos

05.25.2016: Andrew's 6th Grade Graduation

Today was tough.  Emotional, proud, happy, sad.  Andrew graduated 6th grade and ended his last year at Cambridge Academy.  He started his educational career here in kindergarten, found his best friends here, met some amazing mentors and teachers here....this has been his second home for 6 years now.  How do you say good-bye to this?

The ceremony was light and fun, and special, and anything I say here can't do justice to how special this place is to Andrew.  I am so very proud of him, and happy for his next adventure, and sad that he is leaving these amazing people.  These pics are just a glimpse into how much they all love each other!
