10.19.2014: Chargers Pre-Game

We all got up and headed south to San Diego for the Charger game today!  Whoohoo...its our first game of the year and the weather is perfect!  Supposed to be in the high 70's but sunny and warm.  We tailgated with Mike & Chris of course, all of us (Mom, Dad, Scott, Vince and I)...and Dad's friend Nick from work and his wife & 2 friends.  Always fun, as usual!  We made some bacon everything...bacon wrapped hot dogs with sides of bacon, and bacon cheeseburgers with sides of bacon...and potato salad loaded with bacon.  You get the theme today!  Yuummm!!

10.18.2014: Lunching with Luke

Vince's nephew Luke was in Huntington Beach for 2 weeks watching Justice while Christina & Lex were in India on vacation.  We drove out to Riverside yesterday to spend the weekend there and go to the Charger game on Sunday. Since we were sooo close we decided to drive the new corvette out to have lunch with him.  We went to a great little hole in the wall in Huntington for some great seafood.  It was nice sitting outside and just catching up with him.  We stayed for quite a while and just relaxed. It was a perfect day out!!  But what day in Cali isn't?

10.11.2014: Olivepalooza in Queen Creek

Vince, Alisa and I went over to Queen Creek Olive Mill in the afternoon for the Olivepalooza festival.  I had been wanting to go to the Olive Mill anyways, just to check it out...but throw a festival with wine & food trucks on top...bonus!!  So we headed over there for some local AZ wines, and food truck food, and listened to some live music.  It was actually pretty cool sitting among the olive trees enjoying our fare.  We didn't stay too long, just a few hours to get our fill.  Great way to spend a beautiful afternoon in Mesa!

10.11.2014: Andrew's Flag Football Game

Vince and I drove out to Mesa for Andrew's football game this morning.  It was the first game of the season and Brent's first game as coach. Andrew did amazing and had a few touchdown passes.  He played QB about half the game, as Brent does a great job of rotating the kids at positions.  They pulled it off with a WIN, which is awesome for the first game!  Good to get that one in the books!

10.07.2014: Sheric Birthday Celebration

Vince, Drake and I went over to Eric & Karissa's tonight to celebrate Eric & Shay's birthday.  Thelma, Jan, Glenn, and Karissa's parents all came over as well to have dinner and cake.  Shay was just the cutest being the center of attention and LOVED that Drake came over too! It was great getting to meet Karissa's Dad and step mom.  They recently moved to Phoenix from Boulder, CO for medical care.  He is a fun, fun guy and meeting him explains sooooo much of Karissa! :)

Shay got a Zoomer puppy for her bday.  The only puppy Eric will allow in the house - for now!

10.04.2014: Post Oktoberfest Dinner

The girls took off from the festival to the store and the guys all went back to Ken's house.  What do you have after a long day of Oktoberfest but Mexican food?! Haha...yup, we had tacos & all the fixings.  Mostly because it was easy and good and we needed it after a day of beer!  We had soo much fun tonight!  Brent & Alisa headed back down the hill later in the night, and Vince, Drake and I spent the night.  We had so much fun & definitely need to do that more often!!

10.04.2014: Flagstaff Oktoberfest

Alisa and I have been dying to go to an Oktoberfest celebration for the past few years.  Somehow our schedules always fill up and we never make it.  Not this year!  It was on the calendar!!  We decided on Flagstaff, hoping for cooler weather and some "fall" feelings!  Well, it was at least cooler than Phoenix, but it was still warm for Flag!

We drove up early and all convened at Kenny's house.  The festival was an all-day event but we wanted to get in early & enjoy the earlier part of it.  What do you do first when you walk into an Oktoberfest Festival?  Get BEER.  Of course!!!  Brent & fam got some Bratwurst & snacks while Ken, Kelsea and I went straight for the Okctoberfest and the Pumpkin Porters (which were very good!)  We found some floor seats on the side of the stage area where the kids could play around a little and we could hang out and drink beer.  The band playing was pretty good, and they did little contests every so often.  Costume contests, chicken dance, yodeling, etc....there was also brat eating contest, stuff as many people as possible into a VW bug, and a few others that escape my memory.  Basically all of the silly things you can imagine happening at a festival that originated in Germany (the land of our people)!

At some point we moved over to the other side of the festival to sit in the shade.  Ken & Kelsea ran into a few people they knew and they ended up hanging out as well.  The kids enjoyed throwing popcorn in each others mouth and venturing off by themselves to get more snacks and drinks.  They felt pretty grown up going off on their own.  Someday they will be old enough to go get us refills too! ;)

We stayed for most of the day, until we got hungry for dinner again.  So we decided to leave and hit the store and go back to Ken's house to cook some dinner!  Great day outside at the festival!!

Waiting in line to go in the bounce house, just to find out you need to go buy tickets first. Ugh!

Smile Avery

No, smile pretty Avery

Alisa passed out from drinking too much.  Haha, just kidding...

She thought it was pretty funny to be "drinking" out of a "beer" cup since it said Bud Light on it
