02.28.2018: Pinnacle High School State Basketball Champions!!

Vince, Drake and I went down to ASU tonight to watch Pinnacle play in the boys state Championship game. It was awesome!  The Pinnacle boys seemed to dominate the first half - then Mountain Pointe started to make a comeback.  We pulled out the win 76-60.

02.21.2018: Bathing Beauties and the Musical Genius

My last night here and all the boys were having fun and being so good!  Justice spent the evening practicing his audition pieces.  The littles had fun in the bath, and we read lots of stories before bed.  Fun visit overall - long week away from Vince though!  Ready to go home & get back to the routine.

 

02.18.2018: Beach Boardwalk Walk

I'd been in Cali for 5 days now and hadn't made it to the beach yet!  This is completely unacceptable! So, I packed up the kiddos and we headed west!  Well, its like only 2 blocks west, but west it was!  I packed plenty of snacks, sippy cups, sweaters and hats!  I drove thru a Starbucks on my way there so I had my own little sippy cup, and we were ready!  We spent the morning walking along the boardwalk and up & down the pier.  We watched the surfing competition that was going on.  It was PACKED out because it was such a beautiful day!  It had been gloomy and drizzly all week, so it was amazing that the day was so nice.  Perfect day for a walk. 

 

It was close to lunch and nap time so we headed back to the house. I was satisfied for the moment with my beach-fix. And the kids were happy to have gotten out of the house for a while.

 

It was good we headed back because it wasn't too long before Justice showed up!  His Dad brought him back a day early, so I am glad we were home!

 

Vince was supposed to drive out and spend the weekend with us, but came down with the flu late last week.  He was still feeling horrible, and Drake caught it too.  So, both of them were in misery, laid up at home in AZ, and they didn't get to come visit me or the kids.  I was more bummed than them though because I always enjoy having Vince out there with me when I'm hanging with the kiddos.  Oh well.  As much as I wanted him there, I didn't want him getting the kids sick...or me either for that matter!

 

02.17.2018: Meeting with Meena

Today we packed up and headed inland to visit with Meena at her house.  She lives in Tustin, near the old El Toro AFB.   Hard to believe I went to an air show here as a kid, and now the whole area is al homes & shops and strip malls.  Very nice area, but soooo much growth in the past 30 years!!

 

Justice is over at his Dad's for the weekend so it was just the littles and I.

 

We hung out at her house for a bit, then walked over to their community park s the kids could play for a while.  Afterwards we went back home and Facetimed Lex & Christina - who were out laying on a beach somewhere!  This was the first time we'd talked to them since they left because the internet connection on the ship was so bad. 

 

We only planned to stay at Meena's for a bit, but it was nice\ visiting with her and she seemed to enjoy the company, so we stayed most of the day.  The kids took naps, then we all went to Chipotle for  late lunch, early dinner.  We headed back home in time for baths & bed!  Great day out of the house and visiting with Meens.
