09.19.2010: GO CHARGERS!

Vince and I took a break from work and headed to CA for the weekend for a little Charger fun! We had a good group there...which always makes for good tailgating! It was the home opener (of the regular season) and they played Jacksonville...it was an easy win...one of the few of the season so far!

Hester...mom's favorite

Nice catch!

09.11.2010: A Day on The Lake

Not many pics from the next day on the lake. We didn't stay all day...even though the weather was perfect!

Right before Brent & Nana got buried under a huge wave...and then Nana was DONE.
Of course had to do some tubing for the kids...
A moment captured on camera....most people would think absolutely nothing of this picture...however, his marks the first moment that Andrew and Brianna got to drink their OWN drink out of a can!!! It was a HUGE deal for them! (And it wasnt even soda...it was Brisk Iced Tea) :)

09.10.2010: Lake Roosevelt Camping Trip

For the weekend, we all decided to go camping out at Lake Roosevelt here in AZ. We were hoping for a Lake Mead camping trip, but it didn't work out with all of our schedules, so we went to Roosevelt instead which is about 1.5 hours from both Brent's, Kenny's & our house. So, worked better for us - schedule-wise. Mom and Dad made the trip from CA and brought Scott along too! Which was a real treat because he hasn't been out to visit yet! We decided to only spend one night out on the lake but we had 2 days in the water. When we got there on Friday afternoon, we hit the water. There weren't really any beaches so we had to pull the boat & SeaDoo onto the trailer each time we got out of the water. Kinda was a pain, but oh well. It was all of our first time there so we had no idea what to expect. Lets just say it was DEFINITELY NOT Lake Mead! We still had a great time camping and being outdoors! In the evening after dinner we had a fire and played campfire games. The letter game...telephone...ghost stories...etc. It was a blast until the kids decided that they wanted to go to bed...they were asking to go to bed! That is when you know you had a long day...when the kiddos beg for us all to go to bed!!

Nana telling Vince how to setup our tent

Our spot! It was definitely a gorgeous day & night!!
Kenny and Nicole came for the day but didn't camp out :( Booooo
Kids always enjoying themselves
Hanging out...
Telling ghost stories..with the flashlights of course

09.08.2010: A Day in the City...Fabulous Manhattan

The next day, we all ditched work (well, Vince and I didnt need too...and Greg took the day off)...to head to the city for some shopping and dining and sight seeing!! I absolutely love Manhattan...to visit!! West Point is about an hour train ride from downtown and the best way to travel there. It is a gorgeous trip as well as it rides right along the Hudson all the way into Manhattan. We had a great day....started off with lunch in Grand Central Station...then grabbed a taxi down to Canal Street where we do our main shopping. Found some GREAT deals!! After that we headed back to Times Square area (via Subway) to sight-see and have drinks and eventually have dinner. Long day in the city, but so fun and so worth it!

West Point Army Academy from the other side of the Hudson....
Amazing and GORGEOUS!!!
Waiting at the train terminal in Beacon

Pretty day...pretty views!
Times Square...here we come!
Busy day in the city:

The famous ball that drops on New Years Eve

Amazing bar right in the middle of Times Square with great views....oh, and great cosmos!! Yes, we all were drinking the pink drinks! YUM!
So the story behind POP TART WORLD!
They opened a tempoary trial store in Times Square a couple months ago...similar to the M&M stores everywhere. Vince has been a poptart lover since childhood...and me too...really who isn't though?? So, we have been wanting to go to this store for months! So, it was a definite MUST stop while we were there! We were soooo excited to see it! They even had the Apple Strudel poptarts that Vince has been missing for years....funny because they just brought them back too! But the store was really cool!! They had poptart everything!
Pop tart samples....
Bye-bye Manhattan...until next time!

09.07.2010: West Point New York....ie Working!!

Vince and I had to go to West Point, where we have a work contract, for some meetings & visit Greg (Vince's brother) who is our project manager there. So, as we do on all our woork trips....we make the most of them and fill them with a little fun too! It was my first visit back since Greg has lived there so it was nice to see him and his place. It was also just perfect weather, so was REALLY nice taking a break from the heat of AZ.

Our first day, had a few meetings at the base, but then got to drive around and check out some nice views...which is actually just a few minutes from Greg's place and very near the Academy.
Looking out over the Hudson River...from a narrow winding road that is closed in the winter because of the danger of ice & snow. Should be closed all year because it seemed dangerous anyways....or maybe that was just Greg's driving!
Brothers
The infamous Hudson River
Rumor has it...this is Sly Stallone's house overlooking the river. Not sure if it is...but it is a gorgeous home....just one of the many exactly like it along the river. Money....

Vince and I took Greg to dinner at a little restaurant we discovered on one of our trips here. Torches on the Hudson. It is very good food, and great views too! Weather was amazing so we sat outside...had a delish dinner and some refreshing wine....good times!!! We love our job!

We got her a special birthday glass to drink her "spritzer" out of! I think she LOVED it!! :) It was a great evening and was so glad we were able to celebrate with her!
