07.25.2009: Keith Urban Concert
A group of us went to the Keith Urban concert....had a blast! It was sooooo hot as usual beforehand so we couldn't tailgate. We met for dinner at a restaurant, then went out to Glendale for the concert. It was a lot of fun, but for some reason I didn't take any group pics or people pics!!!! What is wrong with me!? Oh well, got a few of Keith, so I guess that is good...

7.13.2009: "BEST EVER" - Day 4...time to go home
Day 4...Monday....time to head back to the real world...well, at least the civilized world.
No more wearing bathing suits all day and not worrying about the fact that you are wearing the same outfit as the day before...or caring what you look like in it!!! No more happy hour starting at noon (at least for most of us!)...no more bathing in the lake before bed...no more sleeping under the stars on uncomfy air matresses....no more saying "gonna check the prop" before you go pee...no more using "non-traditional bathrooms" (at least for most of us!)...no more smelling donkeys from across the cove...no more getting thrown from a rubber tube at 30mph...no more fighting off wasps & bees at 8am in the morning....no more waking up to the sun shining on your face and getting ready to have another wonderful day on the lake.
Geez....do we have ANYTHING to look forward to by going home????

7.12.2009: "BEST EVER" - Day 3
Day 3 of BEST EVER started a little later for some of us....Scott and the kids fished for some of the morning off the back of the boat. We spent most of the day laying in the water, and enjoying our last full day of sun.
About mid-day the tubing competition began. Brackets were formed, alliances were made, people were going down! After a couple hours of non-stop tubing action, a winner was crowded....haha....well 2 kinda. Brent and Jason...go figure that one!! :) They were battling to the end when Brent jumped on Jason's tube....after battling for tube control, they both went down and ended up in the water....so we called it a co-championship. There is always next year boys & girls!! Heehee!! And in case Mom is busy, I am happy to drive the boat for you again!! :)
Brent & Yukon left us during the afternoon on Sunday....very sad :( But they made it home safe, so that was good!!
Sunday evening, Ken, Nicole, Eric & Steph were in charge of the cooking...and they made some DELICIOUS burgers!! :) And Brats! That cooking competition was sooo close! Ken even tried to use some of Vince's spices to get a leg up...but no luck there! Vince still took the cooking prize...haha!
While dinner was being cooked, we had the last round of competition! This was the "artistic" round. You had to make something out of natural Lake Mead materials. We had some wonderful entries!! There was a 4 person collaboration of a Lake Mead city. Matthew dug a huge hole (Lake Mead), and Drake and Andrew built sandcastles around it (the city). And after they were done, Brianna came and squashed it (the lost Lake Mead city). Poor boys!! They never saw it coming! Haha!! Alan made a great mural on the side of the houseboat in Lake Mead mud depicting the entire trip. There was a fireworks show, a donkey, a boat pulling tubers, an American flag, and most importantly a Bud Light can. It was very cool!!! Alisa made some rock sculptures possibly depicting the formations that were found before Lake Mead became a lake (or by the people that lived in Lake Mead city...before it was squashed). Beautiful sculptures, just beautiful!! Annette did an interpretive dance from behind the hill...hmm?? Olivia put a hat in front of a dried bush...but after a few of Bill's cosmos I could not remember what it stood for?? (Or much else at that point...however pictures have helped in recalling information!!) Jason found 2 perfectly smooth rocks and formed them in the shape of a buttocks! Not sure if they were his or someone elsees??? Hmmmm!! In memory of the old MOON days, I am sure. Jason and Alisa tipped a little for Brent since he was not there to partake in the moon-rock memorial. All in all, there were some fabulous entries, and I am sure it was extremely tough for the judges!! However, the collaboration on Lake Mead city won! Whoohoo....go kids!
After dinner, Kerry made an announcement as to the winner of the overall "trophy" for the trip....appropriately name the "Calville Cup".....although the trophy was a plastic sail boat....sooooo, not sure about that one? Anyways, SCOTT was the overall winner for best everything!! Scott was the glue that kept us all together and running smoothly! Whoohoo Captain Scott! He better keep the Calville Cup safe and be ready to bring it back next year to defend his title!! :)
Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the Calville Cup...however if anyone would like to submit their photo for posting, it would be appreciated!! By that time, I was too busy drinking....camera had to be retired for fear of it ending up in the lake....sorry guys!! Lapse in my duties!!
The night closed with a little fishing off the back with Scott and the boys...mostly Drake...I think Andrew inherited his father's patience for fishing :) Drake caught a huge striper...picture below...Very nice!!
Another wonderful day....weather was perfect!!! This is why we come here....and why we hate going to bed that last night because we know we have to wake up and leave :(

7.11.2009: "BEST EVER" - Day 2
Day 2 started with an early morning for me.....got up at 5am to enjoy the sunrise! Grabbed my camera and snapped a few while everyone else slept. Vince took advantage by getting a little fishing in....unfortunately the fish were still sleeping along with the rest of our crew.
After everyone rose....Mom got the morning started off right with a little tubing expedition. Actually I think a group went out early to water ski because the water was absolutely PERFECT!! After they got back, the next boating group went to tube. I only went on one of these excursions so only got a few pictures. I did however get a great shot of Vince and Annette colliding in mid-air. Both of whom ended up with nice bruises from it! We call these "The Bonnies". These are injuries....cuts, bruises, scars, rashes, bloody lips, sores, etc... that occur when you are being whipped around on a tube behind the boat at 30mph by my Mom. :) I think everyone that rode a tube ended up with at least one "Bonnie".
Anyways, after a little tubing we all came back to find that the SeaDoo ran over the ski rope (all by itself!!). Luckily between Brent and Scott, they cut thru the rope, and dug it out of the intake....all good...no permanent harm done!!
While we were all enjoying a lazy afternoon with drinks in hand, Kerry announced the next round of competition! The IRONMAN!! (Or some called it the TINMAN!) The guys had to pound a beer....run to the pink chair...hop on one foot in 3 circles....run to Alisa....build a stack of rocks with exactly 22 rocks in it....swim to the skiboat...swim to the back of the houseboat....go up the stairs....down the slide....swim back to shore....get another beer....and open it. This was HILARIOUS to watch!!! Dad ended up winning...I think he had a beer drinking advantage though!
After another DELICIOUS meal, we enjoyed some late night fireworks, courtesy of Scott. Scott and Chris worked on the show...which was AMAZING! Most people would pay to see those kinda of fireworks!! Thanks guys!!!
Down for another night....another great day!!!
