06.30.2012: Meet the Parents

Lex's parents came to CA to visit for a week and Christina & Lex wanted us to meet his parents for the first time.  So, they hosted a dinner/bbq at their house so we could all get to know each other!  They were both great, and super talkative! We had a wonderful dinner together and got to spend the evening getting to know each other and hear all kinds of stories about Lex and their history.  Lex's dad is British, and his mom is Indian....both with still very strong accents even though they have been in the states for years now.  They live in Florida now, but still travel often back to both England and India.  It was fun getting to know both of them and we look forward to seeing them again soon!

06.17.2012: Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day, I had bought Vince a camping portable hammock.  It is perfect for camping (and the lake trip)....as everyone is always looking for a great napping spot!!  Just all going to be fighting for the same one now.  Maybe we should make up a schedule!?   We also gave one to Dad for father's day too!  He loved it as well.....as he, too, is always looking for a good nap spot!

Drake came over in the afternoon and got to spend the afternoon & night with us and celebrate Father's Day with Vince.  He had hand made and painted him a beautiful coffee cup and a pot holder.  Very cool!  Vince had a great day!

06.16.2012: Swim Saturday with a Crab Leg Finish

On Saturday, Alisa & Olivia dropped the kids at our house and went on a shopping trip up to the outlet mall.  Brent was working in Vegas and headed back later tonight so we got the kids for the day!  We spent most of the afternoon swimming....as we usually do!  They had a great time...esp Tubbers!  She is a little water baby, for sure!!

Alisa and Olivia came back later in the day and spent the evening here for dinner.  They brought some wine and we made our favorite grilled crab legs!!  We basically can do all-you-can-eat until we fall out of our chairs....but I was surprised how much the kids like them too.  Uh-oh!

So we did our usual hang out at the dining room table and eat and drink wine and chit chat ALL evening...while the kids played....and all ended up falling alseep!  :)  Ahhh just like the good ole' days!!  Except now, they have to drive back home at some point...instead of just blowing up the air matress! :(  It was another great day with family though!!!

06.09.2012: Ceasar's Cabana Day...This is the Life!!

Can you say spoiled?  How can we ever go back to just plain ole' pool chairs now?  I demand cabana pool-side service in Vegas from now on (well, demand as long as someone else is paying for it!) Haha!

So, as a treat for their anniversary, Mom & Dad rented a pool cabana at the Ceasar's pool for the day on Saturday.  Wow.  We had our own little tent area (cabana!), a couple big padded lounge chairs.  A tv in there, couches, snacks, free waters & sodas...  And then of course you have your own butler person...AND your own waitresses.  Oh, AND a girl that comes around with chilled cucumber slices.  Vince, of course, assumed they were for your eyes (ie...spa)....but she happened to mention they were just for snacking.  Haha!  Yes, very cool.  So we toook full advantage.  We spent the entire day out there.  Drank plenty of drinks....had a ton of appetizers....went in the pool....and got our sun ON!

Oh, there was also a baseball game on the tv...the UofA was in the college world series.  Kent & Tammy's nephew plays for them.  So it was very cool to watch the game with them as well!  Not to mention Vince is a big UofA fan too!  (FYI....UofA went on to win the College World Series for the first time in forever!  Pretty amazing!)

So, yes, I must say....S.P.O.I.L.E.D.!!! We are ruined forever...such a treat for us!  :)

06.08.2012: Annual Anniversary Vegas Trip

Every year around the 19th of June, we make a Vegas trip in honor of Mom & Dad's wedding anniversary.  This year we had to go a week earlier than normal because of conflicting events during our regular weekend.  Gina, Bill, Chris & Nicole came up to join us...as well as Kent & Tammy were on their way driving home from Idaho so they met us as well.  Everyone converged on Friday night and we started with a kickoff dinner on the patio at the new restaurant at the Flamingo.  What a beautiful night!!
