03.27.2011: Church Picnic

Sunday, Northridge Church had a little picnic after the last service....bbq, kids jumper things, face painting...nothing outrageous, but fun for the kids!! Glenn and Jan brought the kids and gave Eric & Karissa a free afternoon. The girls had a good time....Drake played with his little buddies. It was a pretty warm afternoon...and we weren't there long...but was a nice little afternoon!

03.25.2011: Hearn Party for Greg

Greg came into town for a little R&R from his job West Point. He works there on our contract at the hospital there in New York. We had a little gathering at our house for Greg so that he could see all his family here in town. Vince's mom, sister Jackie, Glenn & Jan, Eric & Karissa and the girls, Jason & Julia...and of course the guest of honor Greg. Vince bbq'd some chicken....of which I made my own marinade (trying to replicate our favorite that has been discontinued) Boooo to Lawrys for discontinuing the best marinade EVER!! But yeah for me for semi-replicating it!! It was pretty close...and did the job! Anyways, we had a great little evening & everyone got to visit and catch up with Greg. He was only here for a short time, and had to leave the next morning. Drake spent the evening chasing the girls around....the rest of us got to drink wine and enjoy good company!! Greg should come to town more often!

03.06.2011: Angels Spring Training

It was a gorgeous Sat in March....and about the middle of the spring training season. The teams are only here in AZ for the month of March...but play almost every single day....so there are lots of options for games in general...but limited weekends! So, you have to take advantage when you can. Brian Greene had invited us out to the game, and planned the event since he knows I love the Angels. We went to the Angel stadium in Tempe...a mini-me of Angel stadium in Anaheim. They were playing the D-backs...which is the home team here in AZ...but there were definitely more Angels fans in the stadium. Tons of people that had come out from Cali. I love spring training because you are so close to the players....and it makes it a much more personal experience than going to a regular season game. The stadium is small....so every seat is amazing. The players talk to the fans throughout the game....you are just so close to them!! It is great! We had such a great time we started planning the next game...and hopefully get Brent & Alisa and the kids out too....except the weekends never worked out. :( Next year....we are planning ahead & going to a few....really did have a great time...and it doesn't even compare to the regular season...so much better!!
