3.21.2009: Luke AFB Air Show

It has been a while since I have been to an Air Show....and I have really missed not going. Not that I hadn't had many opportunities....living & working right down the street from Miramar in San Diego who had one every year. Growing up next to March AFB, we always went with the fam!!

Anyways, we all decided to go to the Luke air show this year & take the kids. It was going to be their first so we were all excited.....although I think Brent & Vince were more excited than the kids ;) Since Vince was stationed at Luke once upon a time, this Air Show was a little more special!! Vince, Drake and I met the rest of the crew there. We literally got there 30 mins before them, and it only took us about 30 mins to actually get in the show from the parking lot (park, shuttle & walk). They didn't get in until about 2 hours later...crazy traffic, shuttle jams, accidents blocking the shuttles....just a mess! They were right on time though....they made it in right before the F-22 performance....which was the highlight of the show....for us. It was amazing!! Too bad it is being discontinued! :(

We stayed a couple hours...checked out the planes, walked thru a few of them, Vince made some friends, informed us of each and every plane, and bomb (and their history), told Drake more stories than he will ever remember, ate some not-so-good for you food, drank some really cheap (surprisingly) BudLight...then got outta there right during the Thunderbirds performance. We wanted to beat the crowds out, and it was a good that we did. We saw the whole Tbird show as we were walking out, got some great pictures too!! Kids had a blast...Vince and Brent got their military/Air Force fix...at least for the day. It was REALLY hot, on the tarmac, no shade, lots of sun, lots of people!! Great day though!!! 3.28.2009: WATCH OUT David Beckham!!

There is a new SUPERSTAR in town!




















Today was Andrew's first soccer game. I am posting this out of turn because I have a lot of catching up to do since back in Feb...starting with Brianna's birthday. But I know some of you wanted to see pics from Andrews game today since it is still time-revelant! So, thought I would get them up today...and out of order...very unlike me!

Anyways, it was a good game....not sure who won or lost, but in today's world, we are taught that everyone is winners!! Andrew played really well for it being his first game, and first organized sport! He got to kick the ball a few times and did really well paying attention and running back & forth with the pack! The teams were evenly matched, and all the kids looked like it was still pretty new to them, but that they definitely had some practice! Although everyone was pretty coordinated, and I don't think anyone ran off the field crying....so that is ALWAYS good for this age! Haha! Seemed like the kids had a good time! Andrew had fun, and that is what matters! I am sure he will sleep all afternoon though because he sure did a lot of running! :)

03.27.2009: Kiddos Sleepover

Today, Brent and Alisa went to a event for Brent's work and to a Dodger spring training game....so Vince and I got to babysit Andrew and Brianna. We picked up Drake early from school so they could have an afternoon swim party together. They had a blast!! Swam for 3 hours straight....we had to literally drag the boys out of the pool! Then in the evening the kids played a few games of Twister! Which is perfect for them....they wear themselves out without destroying the house! Haha! Just kidding....they do really like it though...they laughed like crazy!! Had so much fun!!! It was great having them all together again...it had been awhile since they got so much time to play!!
