11.29.2008: TURKEY DAY #2

On Saturday night, Vince and I had a little party for our family and friends (that could make it) in our condo clubhouse. We had tons of food, wine, music, and FUN! Jackie, Vince's sister, was a HUGE help in assisting in the process and bringing delicious food and desserts. As was Vince's mom & Alisa!! The party started out pretty mellow with everyone just hanging out and visiting. Then it kicked up a little towards the end of the night when the dancing started! It was a blast!!

11.28.2008: Friday Night OUT!

Friday night....after a day of recovering from over-eating and over-drinking the day before, a group of us headed out for some (more) drinking and dancing and just being out! We all met at our house and headed to Vince & I's favorite wine bar in downtown Scottsdale...Kazmiere. Unfortuantely they didn't have live music this night :( - they have AWESOME jazz bands come play!! But, we had a great time anyways!! From there, we headed to Six...a club just across the street. It gave us all a chance to hang out...without kids, (most) without worrying about driving...and just having a good time!

11.27.2008: HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!

This year for Turkey Day, we had 2 families groups to visit and share the day with! Drake spent the day with us also, so he ate lots, played lots, and was BEAT by the end! We started out the day here at home eating breakfast with Alan & Annette. Then we all headed over to Brent & Alisa's for appetizers and drinks with them & Alisa's parents who were in town from Costa Rica. We spent a couple hours over there watching football, letting the kids play, drinking YUMMY champagne, eating lots of yummy food, watching Brent smoke Tom, his turkey. Yes, it is tradition for them to name their turkey! :) Helps the kids eat it for some reason!

Before we could enjoy dinner with them, we had to head out and make an appearance at Vince's brother's house...where some of Vince's family had gathered. We ate dinner there and got to visit with his brother's family, Vince's kids & Mom. They have a gorgeous house!!! And dinner was wonderful! We only stayed a couple hours there as well....since we'd had a very long day! We hit the road and headed home....stuffed with turkey, ham and all the fixings!! GREAT turkey day....spent with family and friends...and it left us feeling VERY thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives!

11.22.2008: Drake's Flag Football Playoffs

Well, today we had the last 2 games of the seasons for Drake's flag football. All the teams went to the playoffs, and it was single elimination. We won the first game, and lost the second. Drake had a GREAT first game and scored 2 touchdowns!! He was soooo excited!! In between games, we had a 2 hour break so the kids played on the playground and wore themselves out. So, come the second game, we didn't do as well. So we got runner up...and all the kids got a cool trophy. I took a few dozen pics from the game...alright, I took about 150!.... just because it was the last, and it was really exciting! It had been a VERY long day, and all the kids were all extremely exhausted! Oh, it didn't help matters that there was a girl on the other team during the second game....and she was good! All the boys swore she was cheating because she was everywhere!! At one point, they had all experienced at least one meltdown! It was actually pretty funny from the sidelines! :)

11.21.2008: Fall Festival w/ Friends

The night before Drake's last playoff football game, our friends invited us over to their house for a poster making party. There was also a fall festival going on the boy's school, so we went to that for dinner and some fun little games for the kids. The video is of Drake & William doing the 3 legged race. Kinda funny!! I think it was a first for both...?? They got their faces painted, did obstacle courses, won all kinds of little prizes, etc. Then we went back to their house for some playoff poster painting and wine drinking. (I was just noticing that almost all my posts invlove wine drinking!!!! Is that because we just always drink?? just really like wine?? or that is the only time I bust out the camera??? Don't think it is the last one. Hmmmm...have to think about this!!!??)

11.12.2008: Swimming at our house

Olivia, Alisa and the kids came over for dinner one night mid-week so the kids could hang out with Drake and Justice, who was in town. Those kids are so funny together and LOVE hanging out!!! We spent an hour or so swimming, then hung out here for dinner & wine....while the kiddos played! Another fun night...and another opportunity to practice some outside water/swimming pics with my new camera. And yes, Nana is my favorite photo subject....at least one of them anyways! :) She's just too cute!!!!
